Terms of Service

The agreement between you and bendzius.dev. Last updated: 22 June 2026.

1. Agreement

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of bendzius.dev ("the Service"), a self-hosted, non-commercial personal platform operated by Edvinas Bendzius ("the operator", "we", "us"). By accessing or using the Service you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service

The Service is a personal project providing tools such as food and health tracking, developer utilities, file storage and a blog. It is offered free of charge and on a best-effort basis. Access is granted at the operator's discretion, and some features require a specific role or permission that the operator may grant or revoke.

3. Accounts

Sign-in is passwordless, using one-time email codes, magic links, or passkeys. You must provide a valid email address and are responsible for keeping access to your account and your sign-in methods secure. You're responsible for activity that happens under your account. Let us know promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or upload illegal, infringing, or malicious content;
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other users' data, or the underlying infrastructure;
  • probe, scan, disrupt, overload, or otherwise interfere with the Service or its security;
  • scrape or harvest data at scale, or abuse the AI, file-storage, or API features; or
  • post spam, harassing, abusive, or otherwise objectionable content (including in blog comments).

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you create or upload — including meals and photos, files, snippets, notes, and comments. You grant the operator a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service for you (including the AI processing described in the Privacy Policy). You're responsible for your content and confirm you have the rights to use and upload it. The operator may remove content, and moderate, edit, or remove blog comments, at its discretion — for example to comply with the law or these Terms.

6. Third-party services

Some features rely on third parties (for example Google's Gemini AI, food databases, and — if you connect it — Garmin Connect). Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and your use of them is subject to those terms. Connecting an external account means you authorise the Service to access data from it on your behalf.

7. Availability, data & backups

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". As a self-hosted personal project, we make no guarantee of uptime, error-free operation, or that data will never be lost, and we may change, suspend, or discontinue any feature at any time. Please keep your own copies of anything important — you are responsible for your own backups.

8. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the operator will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Service. Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9. Suspension & termination

The operator may suspend or terminate your access at any time, including for breach of these Terms. You may stop using the Service and request closure of your account at any time by emailing hello@bendzius.dev.

10. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We'll revise the "last updated" date above, and your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
